Centennial Pediatrics Foundation

OUR MISSION...to improve the health and well-being of children by providing high quality medical services, improving access to healthcare, and advancing evidence-based prevention and education strategies for patients and families.

Patient Care:
                         PATIENT SERVICES
Centennial Pediatrics has seen many children with a need for sick or well care with no insurance coverage at the time of visit. The Centennial Pediatrics private practice group has historically served all families regardless of their ability to pay. To avoid turning away families in need, the Centennial Pediatrics practice is partnering with the Centennial Pediatrics Foundation to seek relief for uninsured patients and providing the best possible pediatric care for all families regardless of their ability to pay.

Patient Education:
               CHILDHOOD OBESITY
Our patient population reflects the trend of overweight youth in the State of Tennessee—an estimated 25% of our patients are obese. Additional time and attention, beyond the annual well-visit, is crucial to impact behavior and foster healthy lifestyle changes. This additional time and attention is not considered routine and is not reimbursed by health insurance. The clinical research we are able to provide in this and other areas of pediatric care may ultimately expand what is considered routine and necessary care for the health and well being of all children.

Community Outreach:        CP C.A.F.E.
By collaborating with local churches and faith-based groups, C P C.A.F.E. (Child and Family Education) events provide an opportunity for families to assess their starting point on a path to a healthier lifestyle. Free healthy meals and nutritional information initiate a conversation about daily menus, snacks, and grocery shopping choices. Physicians cover such topics as getting active, family time vs. screen time, and food choices and preparation. Fun and educational activities for the kids, BMI screening, and a chance for parents to speak directly to a pediatrician are included.

                                                CP SCHOLARS
CP Scholars is a program founded and supported by the Centennial Pediatrics Foundation. A CP Scholar is an established Centennial Pediatrics’ patient, ages 5-13 (rising 1st grader to rising 8th grader) who has been selected by CP Scholar committee from a pool of applicants. One child from each of our 11 Centennial Pediatrics locations will be chosen annually and sponsored to attend a 2-week long day camp session at the YMCA Camp Widjiwagan.
